Honestly, a lot of your trepidation towards Substack resonated with me. I love the opportunities this platform gives to find like-minded individuals. Recently though, it's felt like ai slop, plaigarism and general shitposting has gained a bigger foothold in the feed πŸ˜”. I'd like to hope Substack learns from the other platforms, but that's the optimist in me speaking πŸ˜….

Quite – I really hope they decide to pivot in the direction of humanity, creativity and genuine value rather than the usual attention-economy rubbish! I suppose we'll see. Fortunately, because it's still set up around newsletters, much of the platform remains optional. I mean, if you want you can just subscribe to your favourite people, read their newsletters and publish your own, and never have to look at the app/Notes feed at all. That's what gives me hope. The incentives of this place are so much better than X/Facebook/Instagram ever were...
